Pierce Brosnan, who stars as Sam Carmichael, has sparked fresh hope for a new chapter during a chat with Magic Radio.

Pierce revealed over dinner with producer Judy Craymer, talk definitely turned toward the future of Mamma Mia!

He shared with host Sonali Shah, “Well, Judy Craymer and I had a dinner the other night – and, yes, we talked story. We talked about the possibilities of where the characters would go. The studio wants it, I believe every man and woman would jump at the chance to do number three.”

Pierce made it clear he’s eager to reunite with the cast and slip back into Sam’s shoes, saying, “I shall step forth and bring us all together.”

He is the latest Mamma Mia! star to confirm a new movie is on its way.

Christine Baranski, who plays Tanya in the two films, spilled previously: “I was in London with [producer] Judy Craymer at our favorite watering hole, she is planning Mamma Mia 3. She gave me the narrative plotline of how it’s going to happen.

“That’s all I can say! But, it’s not like, ‘Oh, I wish it could happen!’ Judy Craymer makes things happen. She made number two happen, and it was a phenomenal hit. I wouldn’t put it past Judy Craymer to get everybody back together.”

Craymer previously shared with the Daily Mail newspaper: “I think one day there will be another film, because there’s meant to be a trilogy, you see.”

She added: “I know Universal would like me to do it.”

Craymer also said she hoped to use four new ABBA songs written by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus.

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with Deadline, Meryl Streep discussed her openness to making a comeback.

She shared: “I don’t know how they’re going to do it. They have an idea. I haven’t heard it yet but it’s in [my diary] and I’m going to hear about it pretty soon.

“Of course I want to do it. I think folks love it.”
