First Look at New Animated Movie Musical Spellbound With Rachel Zegler

Rachel Zegler leads the cast of new animated movie musical Spellbound with songs from Alan Menken and Glenn Slater.

Released on Netflix on 22 November, Spellbound is set in a world of magic where a young girl must break the spell that has split her kingdom in two.

Rachel Zegler, who was most recently seen in West Side Story and will take the lead in upcoming Disney live-action movie Snow White, will provide the voice of Princess Ellian.

She’ll be joined on the cast by Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem who will play King and Queen of Lumbria, parents to Ellian.

Also on the cast are John Lithgow, Nathan Lane, Jenifer Lewis and Tituss Burgess.

Alan Menken, known for his award-winning work on The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Little Shop of Horrors, Pocahontas, Newsies, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Enchanted and Tangled, will compose original music and score.

He will be joined by celebrated lyricist and frequent collaborator Glenn Slater (Tangled) together with music producer Chris Montan (The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Frozen).

The new feature will be directed by Vicky Jenson (Shrek, Shark Tale) and written by Lauren Hynek & Elizabeth Martin (Mulan) and Linda Woolverton (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King).
