Avenue Q heads back to London’s West End for a special 20th anniversary run at the Shaftesbury Theatre from March 20 to August 29, 2026.
Kevin McCollum and Jamie Wilson Productions have named the full cast and creative team, promising a limited season that brings the original Broadway puppets back to center stage.
Emily Benjamin is set to lead as both Kate Monster and Lucy The Slut, with Noah Harrison taking on Princeton and Rod.
Joining them are Meg Hateley as Mrs T and Bad Idea Bear, Oliver Jacobson as Brian, Charlie McCullagh juggling roles as Nicky, Trekkie Monster and Bad Idea Bear, Amelia Kinu Muus as Christmas Eve and Dionne Ward-Anderson as Gary Coleman.

Jasmine Beel, Jonathan Carlton, Angelis Hunt, Lesley Lemon, Jessica Niles Kadi and Joshua Williams-Ward round out the cast.
Original director Jason Moore returns, praising the new ensemble as “singular, standout young comedy performers,” and noting their inventive energy and “fresh perspectives”.
This revival remains true to its roots with music and lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, book by Jeff Whitty, and orchestrations by Stephen Oremus.
The team behind the scenes features Broadway puppet designer Rick Lyon, set designer Anna Louizos, and UK creative talent with choreography from Ebony Molina and costume design by Jean Chan.
Other key team members include lighting by Tim Lutkin, sound by Paul Groothuis, video by Nina Dunn for Pixellux, puppetry coaching from Iestyn Evans and Andy Heath, casting by Pearson Casting CDG, musical direction by Benjamin Holder, and original West End company member Julie Atherton acting as Associate Director.
Avenue Q’s plot follows Princeton, a recent grad new to a quirky group of neighbors on the titular avenue, as they tackle the tricky business of adulthood – with catchy songs and a lot of laughs.
The show first made its West End debut in 2006 and has gained a devoted following through multiple theater transfers before its last regular performance in 2010, most recently celebrating its 18th anniversary with a concert at the Sondheim Theatre in 2024.
