CATS Artwork for UK Revival

Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS is returning to the stage with a bold new production in the UK.

The revival is set to open at London’s Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in summer 2026, followed by a tour.

Directed and choreographed by Drew McOnie (Jesus Christ Superstar, Evita), this reimagining of the world-famous musical will run from 25 July to 12 September before visiting venues across the UK from October 2026 and into 2027.

Known for its unforgettable score – including Memory, Macavity: The Mystery Cat, and The Jellicle Ball – this version promises to bring new energy to one of the longest-running musicals in history.

Presented by Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals, this marks the third Andrew Lloyd Webber title to be staged at the venue in the last decade.
McOnie, a former cast member of CATS himself, describes the project as “a dream” and added: “I can’t wait to share this much-loved piece with a new generation of audiences both in the stunning outdoor setting of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and in theatres across the UK.

“With the production heading out on tour, we are delighted that it will reach audiences across the country after its London run, continuing our commitment to working with partners – in this case the brilliant Michael Harrison – to ensure our work is seen by as many as possible beyond our home in Regent’s Park.”

Following its London run, CATS will tour major UK cities including Plymouth, Hull, Birmingham, Manchester, Bristol, Llandudno and Glasgow, with more dates to be announced.

This production is part of a wider global revival, with two international tours and CATS: The Jellicle Ball also set to debut on Broadway in 2026.

Tickets for the Regent’s Park run go on sale to members on 23 October and to the general public on 28 October at openairtheatre.com
