Us Chess fans have something new to celebrate with a cast recording of the new Broadway revival officially confirmed.
On January 26, the current cast will start work on a brand-new cast album of the Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, and Tim Rice score.
It marks the first time a fully staged English-language version has been recorded since the 1988 original Broadway cast album.
A release date for the album is to be confirmed.
Since opening at the Imperial Theatre on November 16, 2025, this production has become a box office powerhouse, breaking house records and seeing its run extended twice – now set to continue through June 14.
The cast stars by Tony winner Aaron Tveit as Freddie Trumper, Lea Michele as Florence Vassey, Nicholas Christopher as Anatoly Sergievsky, Hannah Cruz as Svetlana, Bradley Dean as Molokov, Sean Allan Krill as Walter and Bryce Pinkham as The Arbiter.
Chess traces high-stakes competition between American and Russian chess champions, all set against Cold War tensions and a complex love triangle.
This revival features a new book by Danny Strong, known for his work on Hunger Games: Mockingjay and as an Emmy-winning writer.
