Disney reveals trailer and release date for live-action Snow White
The highly anticipated live-action remake of Snow White has just received an official release date, along with a thrilling new trailer that’s sure to get everyone talking.
Set your calendars for 21 March 2025, when this reimagined classic will hit cinemas worldwide.
The upcoming film joins Disney’s growing roster of live-action adaptations, following in the footsteps of recent hits like The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella.
Rachel Zegler, who shot to stardom with her performance in West Side Story, takes on the iconic role of Snow White, while Gal Gadot steps into the shoes of the evil Queen.
But there’s more to this Snow White than meets the eye.
The remake will feature new songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the powerhouse duo behind the music of The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen.
Based on the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale, Disney’s original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a piece of cinematic history.
It was the studio’s first full-length feature film, released way back in 1937.
The new adaptation promises to honour this legacy while giving it a contemporary update.
Snow White’s story is familiar to many: a kind-hearted princess finds herself in danger when her wicked stepmother, the Queen, grows envious of her beauty.
She seeks safety in a woodland cottage, where she befriends seven dwarfs who help her outsmart the Queen’s evil plans.
However, this version of Snow White will introduce some new faces to the story.
Andrew Burnap joins the cast as a brand-new character named Jonathan, and Ansu Kabia will portray the Huntsman.
Rachel has also opened up about what makes this Snow White different.
“People are making these jokes about ours being the PC Snow White,” she said.
“Yeah, it is — because it needed that. It’s an 85-year-old cartoon, and our version is a refreshing story about a young woman who has a function beyond ‘Someday My Prince Will Come.’”
