A brand new revival of FAME The Musical has been announced.

FAME The Musical is returning to Theatre Royal Plymouth in a bold new production, running for a strictly limited season from 28 July to 15 August 2026.

Directed and choreographed by Tom Jackson Greaves and designed by Soutra Gilmour, this revival marks the 30th anniversary of the show’s European premiere, which first opened at the same venue back in 1995.

This brand-new version of the iconic musical promises to honor the spirit of the original while reimagining it for a new generation.

Including songs from the 1980s film, FAME follows a group of talented students at New York’s High School of Performing Arts chasing their dreams of stardom.

James Mackenzie-Blackman, TRP Chief Executive and Artistic Director, said: “FAME signifies another key milestone for TRP in making our mark as a leading producing theatre. It’s also a pleasure to once again share the ride with Jamie Wilson Productions, who we worked with on the hugely successful The Devil Wears Prada which premiered at TRP and is now still playing to sell-out audiences in the West End.

“Our production of FAME will play homage to the iconic show’s original spirit and enduring legacy, while inviting a new generation to fall in love with it as so many of us did before.”
