The original Broadway production of Hamilton is coming to theaters this year.
Filmed at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in 2016, this is the same performance that debuted on Disney+, but now reimagined for the big screen.
Opening September 5, 2025, this cinematic version will include Reuniting the Revolution, a brand-new prologue featuring never-before-seen interviews with the original cast and creators as they look back on the show’s legacy.
The film will premiere in theaters in the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico on September 5. It will then open in the U.K. and Ireland on September 26, followed by a release in Australia and New Zealand on November 13. Tickets are available now.
The original cast features Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton, Leslie Odom Jr. as Aaron Burr, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Angelica Schuyler, Daveed Diggs as Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson, Jonathan Groff as King George, Christopher Jackson as George Washington, Phillipa Soo as Eliza Hamilton, Jasmine Cephas Jones as Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds, Anthony Ramos as John Laurens and Philip Hamilton, and Okieriete Onaodowan as Hercules Mulligan and James Madison.
Blending hip-hop, jazz, R&B, and Broadway, Hamilton tells the story of America’s founding with a modern voice, and has become a cultural landmark since its debut.
With 11 Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and a Grammy to its name, the original stage show continues to play on Broadway, in the West End and on tour across the world.
