West End and Broadway stars Lauren Ward and Josie Benson are set to headline Stalled, a brand-new musical premiering in London.

Running t tat the King’s Head Theatre from Thursday 13 February to Sunday 23 March, Stalled offers a fresh take on modern life, motherhood, and identity, unfolding in an unexpected setting—a high-end ladies’ room in Seattle.

From the minds of Liesl Wilke (book and lyrics) and Andy Marsh (music and lyrics), with additional contributions by Kyle Puccia, Stalled promises to deliver soul-stirring tunes and authentic stories, directed by Vikki Stone.

In this intimate yet chaotic space, Maggie, who is lost and searching, encounters a mix of characters—among them a frazzled mother, a neurodivergent daughter, a nonbinary poet, and a queer computer scientist. Each of them grapples with the highs and lows of contemporary life, offering audiences an emotional rollercoaster.

Lauren Ward, best known for her Olivier-nominated role in Dear Evan Hansen and her turn in Stranger Things: The First Shadow, will play a leading role.

Joining her is Josie Benson, who most recently played Hattie in Kiss Me Kate at the Barbican and has been a West End regular with standout roles in Mamma Mia! and Phantom of the Opera.

Completing the company are Cezarah Bonner, Regina Co, Emma Espada, in her professional debut, Isabella Gervais, Joanna Kirkland, Evita Khrime, Rebecca-Jo Roberts, Carrie Sutton and Grace Venus.

The creative team includes musical director Livi van Warmelo, set and costume designer Emily Bestow, and lighting designer Ciarán Cunningham.

Producer Thomas Hopkins said: “I am delighted to be producing the world premiere of Liesl and Andy’s new musical. This piece gives a powerful platform to voices that deserve to be heard, and the stories are as important as they are entertaining.”
