West End star Lucie Jones will lead the cast of 13 Going on 30: The Musical, bringing the iconic role of Jenna Rink to life on stage.

The show will make its world premiere at the Manchester Opera House, with a limited season kicking off on 21 September 2025. Tickets are on sale now here.

The new musical is based on the 2004 hit film 13 Going on 30. It starred Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo and became a cult favourite for its nostalgic mix of teenage dreams, grown-up realities, and a sprinkle of magic.

The musical adaptation is penned by original film writers Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa, with an original score by Broadway songwriters Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner, known for their work on First Date and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

The show will be directed by award-winning Andy Fickman, who previously helmed Heathers and She’s the Man.

Lucie, who has already workshopped the role of Jenna Rink, said: “As one of my favourite films, getting to know the musical has been one of the most exciting moments of my career. I can’t wait to share my version of our beloved ‘thirty, flirty and thriving’ Jenna Rink!”

The plot follows 13-year-old Jenna, who, tired of middle school struggles, makes a wish to fast-forward to adulthood.

She awakens to find herself at 30, a successful fashion magazine editor with everything she thought she wanted.

But as she navigates her new life, Jenna starts to realise the price she paid to get there—and what truly matters to her.

Lucie’s career has spanned iconic roles such as Fantine in Les Misérables, Elphaba in Wicked, and Jenna Hunterson in Waitress, to name a few.

She’s also performed internationally, from Legally Blonde in South Korea to Ghost on tour, and even represented the UK in Eurovision 2017.
