Next To Normal Proshot First Release Date Announced

The filmed performance of 2008 musical Next to Normal has confirmed its first release to audiences.

The proshot will premiere on PBS Great Performances and will be available to watch on PBS on 9 May at 9 pm ET.

Further releases, including internationally, are to be announced.

The West End production of the musical was recorded at Wyndham’s Theatre from 9 – 11 September 2024.

This Tony Award-winning show, with music by Tom Kitt and book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, tells the heart-wrenching story of a mother battling bipolar disorder.

Next to Normal first graced Broadway in 2009, earning three Tony Awards and the prestigious Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

After much anticipation, the musical finally made its UK premiere in 203 at the Donmar Warehouse under the direction of Michael Longhurst.

The show transferred to the West End in 2024 with a cast including Caissie Levy, Jamie Parker, Eleanor Worthington Cox, Jack Wolfe, Trevor Dion Nicholas and Jack Ofrecio.

The London cast also included standbys Carolyn Maitland, Ben Heathcote, Lizzy Parker and Jake Reynolds.
