Rachel Zegler is heading to the West End! The West Side Story star will take on the legendary role of Eva Perón in a brand-new production of Evita, directed by Jamie Lloyd.
The show, featuring Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic music and Tim Rice’s lyrics, will run at the London Palladium from June 14 to September 6, 2025, with opening night set for July 1. Tickets are on sale now here.
Rachel Zegler said:
“Evita has been such an important musical to me since I was a little girl, when my dad and I would sing “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina” together on my back patio. The opportunity to bring Jamie Lloyd’s singular, visionary ideas to life onstage is an honour unlike any other. The stage has always felt like home to me, and I can’t wait to make my West End debut in such great company.”
Lloyd, who last directed Evita at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2019, added:
“I am so excited to be collaborating with the brilliant Rachel Zegler on Evita. She is a phenomenal talent, and I am delighted she will be making her West End debut as the iconic Eva Perón.”
Evita first hit the West End in 1978, telling the story of Eva Perón’s rise from poverty to becoming Argentina’s First Lady.
With an unforgettable score – including Don’t Cry for Me Argentina, Another Suitcase in Another Hall, and You Must Love Me – this new production aims to introduce Evita to a whole new generation.
