The current Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along is set to be filmed.
Filming notices posted at the Hudson Theatre reveal that Radical Media – who previously produced proshots of Hamilton and Come From Away – are set to record at the venue this week (June 17 – 18).
It follows Sunday night’s Tony Awards were the production picked up Best Musical Revival and two further awards for its stars.
There’s currently no official word on what the plans are for the filming – it could just be for archival reasons or as part of a separate project such as a documentary.
Even if we are lucky enough to be getting a fully fledged film performance of the show like Hamilton, a potential release could be years away.

The new production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth’s musical opened off-Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop in 2022 before transferring to Broadway in 2023.
It stars Jonathan Groff as Frank, Daniel Radcliffe as Charley, Lindsay Mendez as Mary – with all three having been nominated for Tony Awards for their roles. Both Daniel and Jonathan picked up the awards for their respective categories, becoming first time Tony winners.
The 2013 London production of Merrily We Roll Along was filmed and released in cinemas, but sadly is not currently available to watch.
For now, you can listen to the revival cast recording.
Alongside the stage production, a big screen movie adaptation is currently in the works.
