A brand-new musical about legendary fashion designer Yves Saint-Laurent is getting its first public presentation.

Ready To Wear, a one-man show written by Rachel Garnet, will be performed on Wednesday 15 October at 1:30pm at The Other Palace as part of their Musical Bites series.

The 45-minute showcase stars Ed Blagrove as Saint-Laurent and follows a single day in the designer’s life as he begins building his groundbreaking ready-to-wear collection.

This stripped-back performance offers a glimpse into a work still in development, with live music arranged by Robert Russel and performed by pianist Steve Corley.

Directed by Ed Blagrove, the musical explores themes of creativity, pressureand resilience, showing Yves as he takes a big risk following his departure from Dior.

Musical Bites is a new series from The Other Palace and Mercury Musical Developments that gives audiences a sneak peek at musicals in progress during their lunch break.

Tickets are just £5, with all proceeds going directly to the creative teams involved.
