EGOT winning duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are to debut a brand new stage musical.
Pasadena Playhouse will present the world premiere of Lyle, Lyle Crocodile, a brand-new family musical based on Bernard Waber’s beloved children’s books.
The show will run from 15 February to 16 March 2025 at The Colony Theatre in Burbank, California.
This lively new stage adaptation brings Waber’s classic tales Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile and The House on East 88th Street to life.
It features a book by Timothy Allen McDonald (of James and the Giant Peach fame) and Sara Wordsworth, who co-wrote In Transit.
Fans of the 2022 movie adaptation will be thrilled to know that the musical’s score comes from the same talented group of songwriters. This includes the powerhouse duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (the songwriting masterminds behind Dear Evan Hansen and The Greatest Showman), alongside Ari Afsar, Emily Xu Hall, Joriah Kwamé, and Mark Sonnenblick.
Nina Meehan will direct the show while the creative team also includes Daniel Mertzlufft (Ratatouille: The TikTok Musical).
Casting is to be announced.
