Hit British musical Operation Mincemeat is officially crossing the pond to Broadway!
The critically acclaimed production, which has taken the West End by storm, will make its Broadway debut at the Golden Theatre on 20th March 2025, with previews starting from 15th February.
Operation Mincemeat tells the bizarre but true story of the secret mission that helped change the course of World War II. In 1943, the Allies planted misleading documents on a corpse to fool the Nazis, leading Hitler to make a critical strategic error.
This marks the Golden Theatre’s first musical since Avenue Q.
And if that wasn’t enough, Operation Mincemeat will be running in both New York and London simultaneously. The Fortune Theatre’s production in the West End has been extended for the 10th time and will continue through 8th March 2025.
The extraordinary debut musical is written and composed by SpitLip – David Cumming, Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson and Zoë Roberts.
The Broadway production will once again be directed by Robert Hastie, who was nominated for the 2023 Olivier Award for Best Director (also for Standing at the Sky’s Edge). Jenny Arnold remains on board as the choreographer.
The creative team includes set and costume designer Ben Stones, lighting designer Mark Henderson, sound designer Mike Walker, and orchestrator Steve Sidwell, musical director Joe Bunker, associate director Georgie Staight and associate choreographer Paul Isaiah Isles. Casting is by Pearson Casting.
Casting for the Broadway production is to be announced.
Tickets for Broadway will go on general sale on 20th November, with a fan pre-sale available from 18th November.
