Schmigadoon! is officially getting a Broadway cast album, with both digital and physical releases planned.
Apple Music currently lists the album for release on Friday, 21 August, giving us a date to look forward to as we wait to hear the cast recording.
Based on the hit Apple TV+ series, Schmigadoon! follows Josh and Melissa as they stumble into a magical town inspired by the classic Golden Age of musicals.
The stage version features all of the fan-favorite songs from the show’s Grammy-nominated score, alongside brand-new numbers written by creator Cinco Paul. The Broadway cast includes Alex Brightman, Sara Chase, Ana Gasteyer, Ann Harada, Brad Oscar, Isabelle McCalla, Maulik Pancholy and McKenzie Kurtz.
The musical was one of Broadway’s biggest success stories this awards season, receiving 12 Tony Award nominations and going on to win five awards, including Best Original Score for Cinco Paul, Best Choreography and Best Costume Design.
It continues its extended Broadway run through January 2027.
