A trailer and release date has been confirmed for Disney’s live action Snow White film.
The new movie is the latest remake of classic animated Disney films, following The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella.
Rachel Zegler stars in the title role with Gal Gadot as the evil queen.
The new film will feature songs from The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen duo Benj Pasek & Justin Paul.
The film is currently set to be released in cinemas worldwide on 21 March 2025.
Disney’s Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a timeless animated classic that marked the studio’s first full-length feature film.
Based on the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tale, the movie follows Snow White, a kind-hearted princess who finds herself in peril when her wicked stepmother, the Queen, becomes jealous of her beauty.
Seeking refuge in a cottage in the woods, Snow White befriends seven lovable dwarfs who help her evade the Queen’s sinister plans.
The new remake will also introduce Andrew Burnap as new character Jonathan while Ansu Kabia will play the Huntsman.
Speaking about taking on the role of Snow White, Rachel Zegler said: “People are making these jokes about ours being the PC Snow White, where it’s like, yeah, it is — because it needed that.
“It’s an 85-year-old cartoon, and our version is a refreshing story about a young woman who has a function beyond ‘Someday My Prince Will Come.'”
The movie filmed in and around London in 2022 and 2023. It was originally due for release in 2024.
