A huge film musical is finally getting its big West End home, and we now know when it will land in London.
The Greatest Showman will open at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in spring 2027, after a sell-out run at The Bristol Hippodrome earlier this year.
Oliver Tompsett will lead the cast as P.T. Barnum, with Samantha Barks starring as Charity Barnum.
Ben Joyce plays Phillip Carlyle, Vajen van den Bosch plays Jenny Lind, and Malinda Parris plays Lettie Lutz. Further casting is to be announced.
Lorna Courtney had starred as Anne Wheeler in the Bristol premiere but it’s yet to be confirmed if she’ll be reprising her role.
The show will use the songs many of us already know from the film, including The Greatest Show, A Million Dreams, Come Alive, Rewrite the Stars, Never Enough and This Is Me.

Benj Pasek and Justin Paul are also writing new songs for the stage show while Tim Federle has written the book. Casey Nicholaw will direct and choreograph the show.
The story follows a restless dreamer who builds a show around people the world had pushed aside, as they find a place in the spotlight.

We’re thrilled to begin this next chapter in our long association with Theatre Royal Drury Lane – this feels like a very special homecoming.”
