It’s official, we’re getting a cast album of the new 2026 Broadway revival of The Rocky Horror Show.
StarVista Music will release the album, with a release date to be set.
Richard O’Brien’s musical returned to Broadway at Studio 54 earlier this year, beginning previews on 26 March before officially opening on 23 April, with Tony Award-winning Oh, Mary! director Sam Pinkleton behind the new production and Ani Taj providing the choreography.
The original revival company was led by Luke Evans making his Broadway debut as Frank-N-Furter, with Stephanie Hsu as Janet, Andrew Durand as Brad and Amber Gray as Riff Raff, while Rachel Dratch appeared as the Narrator alongside Juliette Lewis as Magenta, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez as Columbia, Josh Rivera as Rocky and Harvey Guillén as Eddie and Dr. Scott.
They will all feature in the cast album.
The revival has proved popular enough to receive multiple extensions, with performances now scheduled through 28 February 2027, while it also picked up a Tony nomination for Best Revival of a Musical and nominations for Luke Evans, Stephanie Hsu and Rachel Dratch.
There have already been some big changes since opening night, with Lorna Courtney, Kevin McHale and Jimin Moon taking over as Janet, Brad and Rocky from 25 August, while George Salazar joins as Eddie and Dr. Scott; Jake Shears is then set to take over as Frank-N-Furter from 11 September, with Sherie Rene Scott and Valentina also now part of the company.
The show’s musical director Jane Cardona shared a picture on social media in the studio recording the album.
For us Rocky Horror fans, a new recording means another version of Richard O’Brien’s famous score to add to the collection, including favorites such as “Time Warp,” “Sweet Transvestite” and “Dammit Janet.”
