Disney has released the first trailer for the live action adaptation of Moana.
The new teaser gives us a full look at Catherine Laga aia as Moana and Dwayne Johnson returning as Maui.
The trailer ends with Catherine singing I Am Moana – watch it below!
The cast also includes John Tui as Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as Sina and Rena Owen as Gramma Tala.
The story follows Moana as she leaves her island for the first time and joins Maui on a journey to help her community.
Hamilton’s Thomas Kail directs the film, with Dwayne Johnson and Lin Manuel Miranda listed as producers. Aulii Cravalho, who played Moana in the original animated film, is an executive producer.
The live action version aims to bring the same spirit and music to a wider audience while giving the world of Moana a new look on screen.
The film will arrive in cinemas in July 2026.
