The Broadway hit The Book of Mormon just made history! With its February 22 matinee at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre, the musical reached its 5,124th performance, surpassing Rent to become the 11th longest-running show in Broadway history.
To mark the occasion, the cast paid tribute to Rent by performing “Seasons of Love” at curtain call on February 21. Cast members Jacques C. Smith and John Eric Parker — who both made their Broadway debuts in Rent—introduced the special performance.
This milestone also solidifies The Book of Mormon as the longest-running show in the O’Neill Theatre’s 99-year history, a title it’s held since 2019.
