Lea Michele has given us a first listen of her take on Someone Else’s Story from the upcoming Broadway revival of Chess.
The Glee and Funny Girl star is stepping into the role of Florence Vassey, leading a starry cast that also features Nicholas Christopher as Anatoly Sergievsky and Tony winner Aaron Tveit as Freddie Trumper.
The revival will begin previews October 15 at the Imperial Theatre, with an official opening night on November 16. The run is currently scheduled through March 15, 2026.

This new Chess features music from Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA, lyrics by Tim Rice, and a fresh book by Emmy winner Danny Strong (The Hunger Games: Mockingjay).
Rounding out the cast are Hannah Cruz as Svetlana, Bradley Dean as Molokov, Sean Allan Krill as Walter, and Bryce Pinkham as The Arbiter, along with a large ensemble of Broadway regulars.
Originally conceived during the Cold War, Chess tells the story of two chess champions—one American, one Russian—competing not just across the board, but for the same woman’s love.
