Us Wicked fans have reason to celebrate as a much-buzzed-about deleted scene from the Wicked: For Good film has officially made its debut ahead of the movie’s home release.
A cut clip featuring Jonathan Bailey, shirtless as Fiyero, and Ethan Slater as Boq has been teased as part of the film’s digital home edition, which drops December 30.
The newly-released footage gives us a rare montage of Elphaba, Glinda, Fiyero, Boq and Nessarose letting loose for an afternoon picnic.
There’s laughter, games and a couple of notable shirt removals – first from Fiyero, much to Glinda and Elphaba’s delight, and then Boq, looking to impress Nessarose.
Wicked: For Good will be available for digital purchase or rent starting December 30, with physical copies on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD rolling out January 20, 2026.
The home release isn’t skimping on extras, offering two versions of the film – including a sing-along edition for fans eager to join in from their living rooms.
There are over 60 minutes of bonus features: deleted scenes, an in-depth making-of special with Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, and more behind-the-scenes moments.
Wicked: For Good continues the story of Elphaba and Glinda, years after their fateful parting. Now estranged, Elphaba is outcast as the Wicked Witch of the West, battling The Wizard’s regime, while Glinda is a beloved icon in Oz. Their worlds collide once more after a familiar girl from Kansas arrives and challenges everything.
The film comes from director Jon M. Chu and boasts an all-star cast, including Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, Jonathan Bailey, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Ethan Slater, Bowen Yang and Marissa Bode.
Wicked: For Good is adapted from the landmark musical by Stephen Schwartz and Winnie Holzman, which itself draws inspiration from Gregory Maguire’s best-selling novel.
