The Ragtime revival recently took its critically acclaimed sound and soul directly to NPR’s Tiny Desk, where company members from the Tony-nominated Lincoln Center Theater production served up a snapshot of the American dream in song.
Ragtime, written by Terrence McNally Lynn Ahrens, and Stephen Flaherty, explores the interwoven lives of Black Americans, immigrants and upper class whites in early 20th-century New York.

The Tiny Desk set opens with New Music before Caissie Levy and Brandon Uranowitz share a heartfelt moment in Our Children.
Joshua Henry and Nichelle Lewis take center stage in Wheels of a Dream before Colin Donnell joins Uranowitz and Levy for Journey On, highlighting the different promises – and realities – America holds for newcomers and the privileged alike.
The concert closes with Make Them Hear You, as Henry delivers the musical’s powerful call: “Go out and tell our story.”
The revival production continues an extended run on Broadway having been recently nominated for Best Musical Revival at the 2026 Tony Awards.
